Biography: life and films

Jean-Pierre Marielle is a French film actor. He was born in Dijon, France on 12 April 1932. With over a hundred films to his name, Mareille has demonstrated his versatility in a wide range of dramatic and comic roles and is one of France's most respected screen actors. The highpoint of his career was in Alain Corneau's Tous les matins du monde (1991), in which he played the musician Sainte-Colmbe.
