Une vie violente (2017)
Directed by Thierry de Peretti

Drama
aka: A Violent Life

Film Synopsis

On hearing of the death of his childhood friend and loyal comrade-in-arms Christophe, Stéphane sets off for the island of Corsica to attend his funeral in Bastia.  It seems that Christophe was the victim of a brutal gangland killing, and Stéphane is all too wary that his own life is in danger, the consequence of his becoming too closely involved with a terrorist organisation.  It all began some years ago when, at the age of 27, Stéphane agreed to look after a suitcase for a friend, not knowing that it was loaded with weaponry.  Not long afterwards, he was recruited by a nationalist movement and soon became active in the group's activities.  With the support of his closest allies, he then founded an organisation dedicated to attacking the French state in the struggle for Corsican independence.  In doing so, Stéphane may well have signed his own death warrant...
