Un merveilleux parfum d'oseille (1969)
Directed by Rinaldo Bassi

Comedy / Crime

Film Synopsis

Baron Yves de Kerfuntel is slowly vegetating as an office worker when he learns of the death of a distant uncle.  In a frenzy of joy, he tenders his resignation and hastens to the family castle to attend the funeral and, more importantly, the reading of the will.  But Yves's optimism is soon punctured when he learns that there are seven other heirs, with him seventh in the pecking order.  His dismay spreads to the rest of the family when it is revealed that Louise de Kerfuntel, the infirm sister of the deceased, will inherit the entire estate.  The mood is not greatly improved when Louise announces that everyone can stay at the castle for as long as he or she wishes, on the understanding that she will be free to do what she wants with her windfall, even if means losing it all at the casino.  Yves decides that it is high time the old woman met with an accident, before all the loot is squandered...
