The Here After (2015)
Directed by Magnus von Horn

Drama
aka: Efterskalv

Film Synopsis

After completing a stretch in prison, John returns to his father's farm but meets with a cool reception from both his family and his neighbours.  John has never been able to get on with his father, so there's nothing new here.  What surprises him is how his former school friends treat him.  It seems that no one is willing to forget or forgive the crime he has committed.  The only friend John seems to have is Malin, a little girl who lives near to his ex-girlfriend.  Since John's return to the area, the atmosphere has turned decidedly toxic, and even John's younger brother Filip has started to rebel against his father.  Finally, John loses all hope of starting a new life and again he falls foul of the violent impulses that carried him off to prison...
