Film Synopsis

When his father, the famous San Francisco private detective Sam Spade dies, Sam Spade Jr  inherits not only his agency but also his waspish secretary Effie Perine.  Eager for some ready cash, he pawns a dusty old statue, not realising it is the legendary Maltese Falcon.  Soon after, Sam begins receiving offers for the statue.  Realising that the artefact may actually be worth something, Sam attempts to recover it but, to his surprise, it has gone missing.  He then bumps into Anna Kemidov, the daughter of the general who owned the statue.  She is prepared to do anything to recover the Falcon, absolutely anything...
