Film Synopsis
The story of three generations of the Sonnenschein family, from the Hapsburg Empire to the Hungarian Revolution in 1956. With his medicinal liquor, Emmanuel Sonnenschein amassed a huge personal fortune and overcame anti-Semitic prejudice in Hungarian society for a time. But his son Adam, despite winning a gold medal in the 1936 Olympics, cannot escape the Holocaust. It was to avenge his death that his son Ivan chose to make a career in politics.© James Travers
