Romaine par moins 30 (2009)
Directed by Agnès Obadia

Comedy

Film Synopsis

Romaine is thirty and is in a settled relationship with Justin, her boyfriend of three years.  All is well until, one Christmas, the latter gets it into his head to start a new life in Quebec, rearing dogs for a living.  Justin doesn't give his partner any opportunity to discuss the matter with him.  He merely takes her to the airport and springs it on her just before they are due to catch their flight to Canada.  Unsure what to think about Justin's madcap proposal, Romaine decides to go along with it for the time being.  She knows she can always return to France if things do not work out.  The journey is barely halfway over when she learns that the plane is about to crash, with the likely result that everyone on board will be killed.

Certain that she has only a few minutes left to live, Romaine decides to confront Justin with a few home-truths - matters that she has had on her chest for some time but never got round to telling him.  After purging her spleen, Romaine then realises she had made a terrible mistake.  The plane does not crash as she had expected, but comes in to land safely at its destination.  Devastated by his partner's vitriolic outburst, Justin feels he can no long bear the sight of her, so he abandons her as soon as they are back on terra firma.  Alone in a strange land, Romaine has an eventful time ahead of her, and before she knows it she is married to a complete stranger.  She wonders what other surprises the next few days have in store for her...
