Un illustre inconnu (2014)
Directed by Alexandre de La Patellière, Matthieu Delaporte

Drama / Thriller
aka: Nobody from Nowhere

Film Synopsis

Sébastien Nicolas is a man in his early forties who, odd though it may seem, has no identity of his own.  By profession, he is an estate agent, and this might partly explain why he is a total nobody, a man without a face and possibly no soul either.  He leads a solitary existence, imitating more interesting individuals he encounters in the course of his empty life.  He finds that by copying other people he is able to equip himself with a fully-developed persona, making up for the one he is badly deficient in.  It is a pretty harmless occupation, until the day when Sébastien 'borrows' the identity of someone with a dangerous past.  This is when he wakes up to the discovery that imitation is not only the sincerest form of flattery, it can also be the surest way into trouble.  Sébastien now finds himself stuck with an identity from which there is apparently no return...
