Mr & Mme Adelman (2017)
Directed by Nicolas Bedos

Comedy / Drama

Film Synopsis

After the death of the celebrated writer Victor Adelman, a journalist pays a call on his widow, Sarah Adelman, in the hope of extracting from her an account of her married life.  It was back in 1971 that Sarah first met Victor and soon after became his muse.  She fell passionately in love both with the author and his work, and despite the objections of her future in-laws, they duly married.  It was not to be the easiest of marriages, although it lasted 45 years.  An egocentric and tormented soul, Victor objected to his wife's bourgeois tendencies as he himself found fame through his work.  The woman who had been so free and uninhibited when he first met her finally began to bore him, so he sought distraction in the company of other women.  How Victor made Sarah suffered, almost as if he did it deliberately to spite her...
