Microcosmos: Le peuple de l'herbe (1996)

Film Synopsis

Marie Pérennou and Claude Nuridsany are two committed biologists who have spent three years filming the hidden world at ground level in an ordinary country field.  It is a world such as one we can scarcely imagine, populated by millions of tiny creatures who must wage a fierce, continuous struggle if they are to survive for the few weeks that Nature has allotted them.  Here are just a few of the marvels that await us as we enter this astonishing microcosmos:  ants leading their herds of enslaved aphids, two snails exchanging a slobbering kiss, a beetle working like Sisyphus to push a ball of dung to a place where it can dine in peace.  Welcome to the world of the little creatures...
