Film Synopsis
When her partner kills someone, Mathilde, a schoolteacher, allows herself to be arrested in his place so that he can escape. Her son Adrien can make no sense of her behaviour and her lawyer, Nadège Rutter, assures her that unless she cooperates with the police she is likely to remain in prison for a long time. Mathilde keeps her silence and ends up sharing a prison cell with another woman who has been ill-treated by life. The weeks pass, but still she has no news of the man she loves. Now, guilty or not, she is just a convict like all the rest, and must learn to make the best of the predicament she has created for herself...© James Travers
