Film Synopsis

Louise is a literary adviser for a publishing company in France.  One day, she receives a manuscript from the United States and cannot help but be profoundly moved when she starts to read it.  Straight away, Louise begins an intimate correspondence with the book's author, Paul Morisson, and uses her influence to get his work published.  As the exchange of letters continues over many years Louise realises that she is in love with Paul, although she is already in a relationship with another, older man, Serge.  When the writer decides to visit Louise in France, she becomes so afraid of the intensity of her feelings for him that she takes flight...
