Film Synopsis

Axèle, a photographer, and Camille, a young writer, decide to spend a year in Rome at the Villa Medicis, a haunt for artists of all kinds.  Camille is accompanied by her daughter and her husband, the well-known writer Marc Landré.  During their stay in the villa, Camille's already fragile relationship with her much older husband comes under greater strain.  As she works on a biography of a sculptor, Camille develops a close rapport with Axèle but soon wonders who she really is.  Axèle appears to be sensitive to the ghosts of the past that continue to haunt the ancient villa...
