Kabali (2016)
Directed by Pa. Ranjith

Action / Crime / Drama

Film Synopsis

As a young man, Kabali was the leader of a gang that fought for the rights of his fellow Tamils in India, at a time when they were being deported in their thousands to Malaysia.  For this act of defiance, Kabali was arrested and incarcerated in a prison in Malacca.  On his release twenty-five years later, he is as angry as ever and his one thought is to take his revenge against his opponents.  The memory of his deceased wife Kumudhavalli is enough to goad him on his mission to strike back at those who opposed him in his youth, in those tempestuous days before Indian independence.  His prime target is Tony Lee, the leader of a rival gang.  The waiting is over; now is the time for vengeance...
