In the 1960s, George, a young woman from a respectable Catholic family, is haunted by the suicide of her lover, Sybil.  Her grief propels her into a life of hedonistic excess in the red light distract of Paris.   When she realises she can attract older clients who are generous with their money, George renames herself Gigola...
