aka: Girl or Boy, My Sex Is Not My Gender

Film Synopsis

Just because you are born female does not mean you are bound to end up with a female identity.  And just because you are born male does not mean you are bound to end up with a male identity.  Gender is a complicated issue and there are many factors that will determine the kind of person you will become in adulthood.  Lynn, Rocco, Kaleb and Miguel come from four different cities - Paris, San Francisco, Barcelona and New York - but they one thing in common.  They were born women but feel they are men.  It is not an idea that society is comfortable with and it has taken these four many years to become confident over their gender identity.  Their experiences show that being a man or a woman is not simply a question of which set of physical attributes you are born with.  It is a much more fluid and complicated matter and shows what a complex and subtle thing identity really is, and how many factors go in to determining who we are.  The experiences of Lynn, Rocco, Kaleb and Miguel are far from unique...
