Film Synopsis

In Lisbon, Macário falls in love with a young woman.  After numerous adventures - a battle against an uncle who forbids their marriage, banishment cause by lack of money, the betrayal of a friend - Macário finally earns the right to marry his beloved.  During the preparations for the wedding, Macário is perturbed by the strange behaviour of his future wife...
