Pierre Tardieu is a forty-something man who lives in Toulouse in an old house
with his father, who is stricken with Alzheimer's disease. He earns
a modest income by doing any odd jobs that come his way. It is a dull
and monotonous life and no one seems to be aware of Pierre's existence.
But this muscly middle-aged man has a dark secret. At night, he prowls
the streets looking for young people he can abduct. Taking them back
to his house, he holds them prisoner in the cellar and then kills them.
As he goes on his killing sprees, Pierre takes great care not to give himself
away. So far, no one suspects him of murder, but that is about to change...

The brighter side of Franz Kafka
In his letters to his friends and family, Franz Kafka gives us a rich self-portrait that is surprisingly upbeat, nor the angst-ridden soul we might expect.
