Film Synopsis
When a young water treatment worker is found dead in a sewer, the city authorities conclude that foul play is involved and set about finding the man's killer. They have a ready scapegoat in Narayan Kamble, a folk singer whose influence is resented by those in power. Narayan is charged with driving the young man to suicide through his politically slanted songs. Without delay, a farcical trial gets under way, with the popular singer arraigned for daring to challenge the status quo with his dangerously subversive sentiment...© James Travers
