Cherchez la femme! (2017)
Directed by Sou Abadi

Comedy

Film Synopsis

To complete her studies at Paris's Institute of Political Studies, Leila decides to enrol in an internship at the United Nations in New York, along with her boyfriend Armand.  This marvellous plan appears to be well and truly thwarted when Leila's well-meaning older brother Mahmoud returns to Paris after a long stay in Yemen.  Like any like-minded Muslim fundamentalist, Mahmoud is appalled at the prospect of Leila being romantically involved with an infidel and does everything within his power to bring an end to her sordid relationship with Armand.  Undeterred, Armand contrives to visit his girlfriend by disguising himself as a woman of her brother's faith, hiding his features behind a veil.  The subterfuge works far better than the Frenchman could have hoped and before he knows it Mahmoud soon has amorous designs on him, not knowing that this winning Scheherazade is in fact a man and - worse - an unbeliever!   Armand is far from pleased when it dawns on him that Mahmoud plans to take him as his wife...
