Film Synopsis

Old rivalries between the Flemish and Walloon sides of Belgium are stoked when a band from each of these two communities end up having to compete against one another in a qualifying heat that will decide who will represent Belgium in a European musical competition.  The Flemish band Sainte-Cécile faces instant disqualification when its star soloist, dies suddenly during the contest.  It is Elke, the daughter of the Flemish orchestra, who comes to the rescue.  She persuades Hugues, the talented trumpet player in the rival Wallon band, to come to the aid of the Flemish side.  It is the opening salvo in a fierce fight to death between two factions that each believes it represents the honour of Belgium...
