In 1880, Big City is an American frontier town that is geared up for a huge
expansion. The town's population is set to grow massively when a wagon
train of immigrants arrives, but the wagon train never does arrive.
It is attacked en route by a party of marauding Indians, in the country just
a few miles outside the town. All of the men and women of the town
rally round to try and rescue the immigrants, but in vain. They never
return. The children of Big City are left behind to run the town by
themselves, waiting for the day when their parents will return...
