A Man Called Ove (2015)
Directed by Hannes Holm

Comedy / Drama
aka: En man som heter Ove

Film Synopsis

Since losing his wife and his job, Mr Ove has becomes the archetypal grumpy old man.  Misanthropic to a fault, the sullen 59-year-old spends his days moping about his home, constantly mindful of the futility of existence and how much he now loathes every man, woman and child on the planet.  Being in charge of the security of the apartment block where he lives gives him an excuse for going around and haranguing his neighbours.  In the end he decides it is best to get it over with and kill himself.  He can't even get this right.  Mr Ove's despair at being a failed suicide is alleviated by the distraction of some new neighbours moving into the place opposite him.  They are a kindly Iranian couple and their impossibly adorable children.  The generosity these newcomers show him revive in Mr Ove not only his sympathy for his fellow man but also his zest for living...
