Laurence Olivier was an English actor, film director and producer. He was born in Dorking, Surrey, England on 22nd May 1907 and died in Ashurst, West Sussex, England on 11th July 1989, aged 82.

His best films as an actor include William Wyler's Wuthering Heights (1939), Alfred Hitchcock's thriller Rebecca (1940), Richard III (1955), John Schlesinger's crime-thriller Marathon Man (1976) and Desmond Davis's Clash of the Titans (1981), and whose best work as a film director include The Chronicle History of King Henry the Fift (1944), Hamlet (1948) and Richard III (1955).
