He was born in Constantinople, Turkey on 7th September 1909 and died in Manhattan, New York City, New York, USA on 28th September 2003, aged 94.His best films as a film director include A Streetcar Named Desire (1951), On the Waterfront (1954), East of Eden (1955) and Wild River (1960), and whose best work as an actor include Anatole Litvak's Blues in the Night (1941), Panic in the Streets (1950) and Michael J.
