Don Siegel was an American film director and producer. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, USA on 26th October 1912 and died in Nipomo, California, USA on 20th April 1991, aged 78.

His best films as a film director include Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956), The Lineup (1958), Edge of Eternity (1959), Dirty Harry (1971) and Charley Varrick (1973), and whose best work as an actor include John Cassavetes's Faces (1968), Clint Eastwood's Play Misty for Me (1971) and Philip Kaufman's Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978).
