Film Synopsis

After the Second World War, a penniless young Frenchman named Marcel arrives in Rome.  Living in a garret, he begins to become acquainted with the city.  He strikes up a friendship with an Englishman, Sir Craven, who helps him to become an official tourist guide, and falls in love with Geromina, the daughter of a restaurant owner.
