Film Synopsis

In 1962, Rima lives a peaceful existence in a Tunisian village near to the Sahara Desert.  When his workers refuse to work for him at half pay, the owner of a salt man calls in the army.  Rima hides the well bucket and manages to drive away the soldiers by depriving them of water.  This victory fuels the girl's rebellious spirit.  Influenced by a city woman she sees in the village, Rima refuses to wear her traditional dress and the women of the village think she is possessed by evil spirits.  One day, Rima decides to leave the village...
