Film Synopsis

During the Second World War, young French woman, Hélène, works as a waitress in a bar frequented by German officers.  One day, she saves the life of young resistance member, Gilbert, by hiding him in the uniform of a German officer in her home.  Injured in the street, Hélène is taken by Gilbert to some friends of his in the hope that she may be transported by plane to London.  There is only one seat available on the plane and Gilbert must go alone...
