Film Synopsis
Jean-Arthur Bonaventure is bored of his humdrum job as a modest
employee at a travel agency in Paris. With his friend Joël
Dupoirier he hits on a revolutionary project that will allow him to
break out of his monotonous routine and live up to his name. What
he proposes is a special kind of cruise whereby, for the modest sum of
three thousand francs, his clients can live on a desert island like
Robinson Crusoe. Jean-Arthur's bosses are in favour of the
scheme, but there is just one problem: where in the world can a desert
island be found in this day and age? Accompanied by his friend
Joël, Jean-Arthur sets out to answer this question in the
Caribbean...

The very best American film comedies
American film comedy had its heyday in the 1920s and '30s, but it remains an important genre and has given American cinema some of its enduring classics.
It was American film noir and pulp fiction that kick-started the craze for thrillers in 1950s France and made it one of the most popular and enduring genres.
