Les Miserables is an American romantic film drama first released on 14th August 1952, directed by Lewis Milestone. Cinematography was by Joseph LaShelle and the film was scored by Alex North. It is based on a novel by Victor Hugo and stars Michael Rennie, Debra Paget, Robert Newton, Edmund Gwenn and Sylvia Sidney.   It is a Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation production, produced by Fred Kohlmar and distributed by Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation.   The film was released with the tagline: "I sentence you to ten years in the galleys!"   It is a black and white film and runs to 1 hour and 45 minutes.
