Film Synopsis
Pierre Martel was a successful and highly respected lawyer in France before he met Sylvia. When the scandal of his illicit affair breaks he flees to Algeria and enlists in the French Foreign Legion. Some years later, he and his friend Fred are patrons of a hotel run by Madame Blanche. The latter amuses herself by foretelling the future of her guests with her cards. Pierre encounters a prostitute, Héléna, whom he mistakes for the one love of his life. He is about to return to France with her when he is confronted with the real Sylvia, who contemptuously rejects him...© James Travers
