Contre-pouvoirs (2016)
Directed by Malek Bensmaïl

Documentary

Film Synopsis

After twenty years of fighting for a free press in Algeria, Malek Bensmaïl sets up his camera in the offices of the famous newspaper El Watan, which was never so crucial as in the hour when democracy was floundering and Bouteflika prepared to run for a fourth term.  Bensmaïl introduces us to those who worked on the paper, showing us their fears and contradictions, in his personal reflection on the work of the career journalist.
