Roger Hanin is a French actor and film director whose birth name is Roger Jacob Lévy. He was born in Algiers, Algeria on 20th October 1925.

His best films as an actor include Marc Allégret's comedy Un drôle de dimanche (1958), Henri Verneuil's L'Affaire d'une nuit (1960), Claude Autant-Lara's Vive Henri IV... vive l'amour! (1961), Dino Risi's La Marcia su Roma (1963) and Alexandre Arcady's Dernier été à Tanger (1987), and whose best work as a film director include Train d'enfer (1984), La Rumba (1987) and Soleil (1997).
