Micheline Presle (real name: Micheline Nicole Julia Émilienne Chassagne) is a French film actress. She was born in Paris, France on 22 August 1922. In the 1940s, Presle was one of the most prominent and most admired actresses in France, starring in such films as Claude Autant-Lara's Le Diable au corps and Jean Delannoy's Les Jeux sont faits. At the end of the decade, she moved to America, where she met William Marshall, with whom she had a daughter, Tonie Marshall, who is now a well-known filmmaker. Into her tenth decade, Presle continues to appear in films and is an active supporter of the campaign to decriminalise euthanasia.
