Jean-Marc Barr is a Franco-American actor and film director. He was born in Bitburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany on 27th September 1960.

His best films as an actor include Luc Besson's Le Grand bleu (1988), Jean-Claude Biette's Saltimbank (2003), Olivier Ducastel's comedy Crustacés et coquillages (2005), Christophe Honoré's Non ma fille, tu n'iras pas danser (2009) and Arnaud des Pallières's crime-thriller Parc (2009), and whose best work as a film director include Lovers (1999), American Translation (2011) and Chroniques sexuelles d'une famille d'aujourd'hui (2012).
