Synopsis
The Hôtel Bijou in Montmartre, Paris, shares the reputation of its owner, Madame Rose, a woman who killed her husband because he was too honest.  Rose’s daughter, Simone, disapproves of her mother’s shady dealings and tries to live a more honest life.  One of Rose’s less reputable accomplices arrives at the hotel, revealing to his hostess that he has just pulled off a jewel robbery in which he murdered a man.  Rose betrays Victor to the police and steals the suitcase in which he hid his booty.  When Victor is arrested, Rose tells him that the person who betrayed him was François, Simone’s boyfriend...
