Du bleu jusqu'en Amérique
1999 Drama

Review
Although probably well-intended by directoral débutante Sarah Lévy, this "hip" portrayal of paraplegics struggling to come to terms with their disability makes uncomfortable viewing. On the plus side. the direction and photography do convey the hopelessness of an under-funded state hospital and the intimidating vulnerability of someone who realises he or she may never be able to walk again. However, there’s a also a note of derision which works against this human drama, an angle which some viewers may find offensive.
