Summary
Three stories about woman and war: In 411 BC, Athens is caught up in an endless war against Sparta.  Tired of this interminable conflict, Lysistrata coerces all of the women to join her in a love strike.  Disheartened by the loss of their conjugal rights, the Athenians decide to make peace with Sparta. April 1430.   Joan of Arc is becoming doubtful about her mission and the soldiers no longer trust her.  When Joan brings a dead child back to life, all the troops agree to follow her into battle again.  But Joan knows that her days are numbered... The American Elisabeth Whitefield arrives in Italy to recover the body of her husband, Tony, who was killed in 1944 by the Germans.  When she hears that her husband had a one night stand with Angela, a peasant girl, and that they had a child, Elisabeth decides to go back home without the remains of her husband so that he can lie near to the child he never knew...
